A woman picked up a package and squinted at the label. "It says 'duvet cover, king.' Does that mean this is a king duvet cover?"

It is the end of a long, busy day. One of my weary co-workers starts to ring up a sale for an equally weary customer.

Sales clerk, entering customer info into the computer: "May I have your last name, please?"

Customer: "A-B-B-O-T-T."

Clerk: "And would you spell that, please?"

Customer: "A-B-B-O-T-T."
